I definitely didn’t mean for five days to go by from my last Gratitude day, but it worked out perfectly because the last few days really solidified what I am about to right. I am beyond grateful for the family I have in my life. They are truly my support system and these last few days have just been fantastic.
On Friday, I picked up my youngest from the airport and spent some quality time. Saturday was spent with cousins. The dinner was great and the conversation was even better. It is tremendous to reconnect with distant cousins and see despite different generations and distance in our family tree (second cousin once removed and third cousin) as well as literal distance. There was lots of laughs while my younger cousin and I momentarily sulked when the Sixers lost. Sunday, I spent the whole day with my mother where I discussed what was on my mind as we shopped. With her help, I made a huge dent in changing up my clothes to better fit my body and not look like it was from 5 years ago. Tuesday, I spent the evening with my sister stuffing our faces with beer, hot dogs, and cheese fries. It was well worth skipping the gym.
Needless to say, my last few days was all family related. I never get tired of it. We all bicker and know how to get under each other’s skin, but regardless of any of that nonsense, we remain a strong unit. Who would have thought, it required shedding some weight? Makes me excited to spend another weekend with them for Mother’s Day and Stephanie’s graduation!
Dollar dog night with @gina_marla. We ate way too much food. We treated this like a sprint rather than a marathon. It’s no fault, but our own. Although, who can truly blame us when we were too excited to see the Phillies play well in the 2nd and 3rd? Who wouldn’t celebrate with hot dogs, beer, and crab fries? I’m so glad Gina came in to watch the Phillies and binge eat with me. Also, Steph’s college graduation, but mostly this.
