When I started becoming bigger in EDM Assassin, I became quite prevalent on Twitter. I found there to be a commonality with these active accounts that were “EDM Families” or Electronic Dance Music Families. They were essentially doing exactly what I had an idea for except in a small form. Each account represented a different area. They posted about their shows and posted about their area. Idealistically, they were quote-unquote the figureheads of their area.
What was even more perfect about this was that they all had a group chat where they would talk to each other. After months of begging, I managed to finagle my way into the chat. I came with big ideas and intending on growing what they wanted. A year later and lots of doubt, these families are much larger than they ever intended.
Today, this site is a culmination of a lot of different people from a lot of different backgrounds. The idea is to be separate, but a whole. This way, one person can be from Texas, know the Texas family, but transition to another family without effort whether they’re going temporarily (such as a vacation) or moving.
