Insane Inflatable 5K Adventure

September 8, 2015 by Grant Austin

I am loving my GoPro. I never realized how much fun you can truly have with it. Unlike my video with my friends at the beach, I decided to wear my GoPro on my head to the Insane Inflatable 5K. I was invited to this event by my sister. I severely underestimated how difficult this would truly be and despite how much pain it put me through, I loved it. I am thankful for Gina’s invitation and that Jason joined us on this. Needless to say, we’re planning on doing others. Although, this time with a bit more training. I think this video turned out real well. It was definitely quite the challenge to turn an hour and a half video into 5 minutes, but I feel like it is much entertaining this way. I am definitely excited with the result.

This video must be watched at 720p with 60 frames a second as that’s what it was filmed in.

Song: Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside (Chris Bourne Remix)

The Best Day Ever

July 31, 2015 by Grant Austin

I recently received a GoPro Hero and wanted to put it to the test. I’ve been doing many different timelapses and such, but this time, I wanted to achieve a full song. I spent last weekend with my friends, Matt, Madison, and Joe (whom are featured) in the video and decided to record the whole day. I titled it the best day ever as we were able to achieve going to the beach, going swimming in the pool, and boating with some tubing in the bay. I got some good footage. I am still trying to mess with the settings for the video, but it turned out pretty good for my first real video. I see some things I can change, but overall, I am happy with the result.

Song: Jagged Edge – Where The Party At?(Viceroy “Jet Life” Remix)

Rick Springfield – Jessie’s Girl [Music Video]

February 27, 2014 by Grant Austin

For my latest project in CIS 365: Digital Film, we were split up into groups of three to make a music video. We were given this assignment:

Pick a song. Tell a story. You cannot use dialogue – the story is completely visual. You may elect to represent the story in the song or something completely different. It’s your choice. Be aware that visual stories differing from the music background may be more difficult for the viewer to decode.

That immediately removed my idea of doing a parody of The Chainsmoker’s “#Selfie.” We decided to put together a list of songs that were classic and/or funny. Some songs that we thought of were by David Hasselhoff, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Billy Idol, Kid Rock, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, and a bunch of one hit wonders. We came to the decision that we were going to do Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl.” After studying the lyrics, viewing the original music video as well as other ones, we put together a storyboard and went to filming. Filming took one day in multiple buildings and rooms. From there, we went to editing and put together the music video. During the editing process, we only had to reshoot 5 minor scenes which worked out well. OVerall, I am a huge fan of this music video and how well it turned out.

I want to thank my partners, Chris and Vandre. I want to especially thank Marissa for being Jessie’s girl.

Sobriety is a Serious Problem

February 20, 2014 by Grant Austin

In my CIS 365 : Digital Film class, our first project was to create a commercial. The only requirements was that it had to be 30 seconds long; no more, no less. I decided to do a commercial that parodies Sarah McLaughlin’s animal commercials. While they have a good message, the music is too memorable that you need to change the channel. Instead, I decided to use the song and create a commercial that would prevent college students from being sober.

I want to thank Declan, Alex, Dan, Gabe, Kevin (aka Sheep Dog, aka Bridge Troll), and Kandace for putting up with this.

Dave Versus Friday Night

May 8, 2012 by Grant Austin

My brothers had this idea to use my one brother’s alter-ego, Dave. Most people recognize this as a Dom Mazzetti type video, but it isn’t like he was the first person to do it. That said, I edited it. I am now a bigger part of the productions. Check out the pilot! Hopefully we get more soon and a website for them.
