Recently, my good friend Nick asked me to help him out with a logo so he can properly watermark his photographs. All he asked was for something very minimalistic. Truly, he didn’t give me much to work with in terms of requests. The examples he showed me was practically all plain font logos. Nothing special. So, I gave him just that, but with a twist. At first, I was just playing around with just font. I had come up with different ways to say “Nick’s Photos,” but ended up with a more sophisticated approach towards it as “Photos by Nicholas” sounds so much better than “Nick’s Photos” or “Nick’s Pics.”
From there, I realized, I could do the whole “cliché” camera approach using one of the O’s. The shutter concept was one I messed with prior on an old logo for one of my websites that I never followed through with. Although, it looks much better with this logo. Besides that, I gave the camera some appeal by adding the flash and such. Overall, this came out much better than I anticipated and Nick loves it.
